Postpartum hemorrhage (PPH) is still one of the biggest risks to maternal survival postpartum and the leading cause of maternal mortality worldwide. CELOX™ PPH is an innovative haemostatic tamponade dressing, which offers an effective and minimally invasive treatment in situations where every second counts. The product has been specifically developed to help stop postpartum hemorrhage, offering a safe alternative to current treatments and, in many cases, reducing the need for blood transfusions or surgical procedures.
How does it work?
CELOX™ PPH is a haemostatic wound dressing applied locally to the uterus, which forms a bioactive gel upon contact with blood. This gel, which expands into granules, creates a mechanical and biochemical barrier that helps to quickly stop bleeding, supporting the natural clotting process even in patients with coagulopathy. The product can be used for both vaginal and caesarean deliveries.

CELOX™ PPH usage:
- Continuous bleeding caused by uterine atony
- Placenta debris in the uterus
- Bleeding cervical or vaginal ruptures that are difficult to access
- Cases of postpartum hemorrhage where pharmacological treatment has not given a quick response
- Patients with coagulation disorders – the product works independently of the patient’s own coagulation process speed
Clinical proof
CELOX™ PPH is already in use in several countries and has received positive feedback from professionals working in maternity care, primarily due to its ease of use and patient safety. Clinical studies have shown a significant increase in hemostasis success, reduced need for blood transfusions, hysterectomies, and other invasive procedures.
