We are proud to have supplied and installed a latest-generation Hologic 3D mammography system to Viljandi Hospital Tervikum!

This is a Hologic static 3D mammography device equipped with contrast mammography software. The device is used to perform X-ray examinations for the early detection of breast cancer. High-end 3D technology (tomosynthesis) allows for layered imaging of the mammary gland, which helps to detect changes in great detail and significantly reduces the risk of occult findings (compared to traditional 2D devices). This is known to be the first mammography device of its kind in Estonia.

From now on, patients can undergo mammography screening in Viljandi all year round. Previously, the nearest screening facility was in Tartu, and a mobile screening unit visited Viljandi only a few times a year.
We hereby invite all Estonian women to participate in screening. In 2026, women born in the following years are invited to participate in breast cancer screening: 1952, 1954, 1956, 1958, 1960, 1962, 1964, 1966, 1968, 1970, 1972, 1974, 1976.
